Ditto Bear is a collaborative character and art toy project by Joanne Lyu and Riggle Xiaoyu Sun.
Our creative journey began with a simple idea for a 3D modelling assignment. What started as a playful experiment became a character that stayed with us long after the first model was completed.
Years later, we revisited Ditto Bear with new skills, fresh perspectives, and a shared desire to bring her into the physical world. Together, we developed a collection of four 3D-printed, hand-painted collectible figures and brought them to art toy exhibitions.
Combining character design, storytelling, and 3D art, we aim to create playful characters that express complex human emotions. Through Ditto Bear, we explore identity, insecurity, curiosity, and the journey toward self-acceptance.
